About Me

My photo
I am a "Twenty something" year old Swedish girl, currently living in Montreal for the past 5 years. I recently started blogging. I write a lot about my life in Montreal, work, traveling, shopping, friends and sometimes a little bit about LOVE. Even though my blog talks a lot about fashion I would not call it a "fashion blog". I am not quite sure what to call this blog. I blog about everything I love around the world. It can be anything from fashion to food. It's simply a Viktoria blog, a blog about the things I love...so I will call it ViktoriaLove! Welcome to my blog!

Got Killer Heels You Love? Problem Solved...

Share

Hey Lovelies!

Today I will answer a reader request I got by Lauren:

"I love it... Give me some tips on making the shoes fit! The Tory Burch pumps are really uncomfortable xx"

Here are some tips and tricks I use to make "uncomfy" shoes fit and look great in them.

Why Buy?

I think the most important step is if you try on a pair of shoes and they are not comfortable at all, you really need to do some careful thinking. Ask yourself how much do you LOVE these shoes and if you will love them when they will cause you painful blisters when wearing them. I've been in this situation so so many times.
If these are a pair of must have shoes but they might cause you pain don't worry more tips and tricks to come. Now you just have to decide to buy or not to buy?

Breaking in your Lovely shoes you bought

OK, so some shoes hurt because they aren't made for your feet, but some shoes might hurt because they truly do need a bit of wear to fit your foot well. I think that dressy shoes need an average of ten wears before they are broken in. Yes, might be painful but worth it? Depends how much you love your shoes! Some of you might feel like the shoes have to be "comfy" right a way but I usually choose to be patient and buy the shoes I LOVE.

Workarounds to look "Fab" in your shoes

Area-specific rubbing of your gorgeous shoes is never fun! Usually the solution would be a band aid but I kind of dislike band aids because I feel like they slip off and move around after a little while and it really hurts anyways. However, I found something called moleskin. I know it kind off sounds gross. Anyways this stuff works! Cut a piece of the size that you need and stick on the effected area. This will protect your blister or the area where the blister can be formed. Not only that but because this stuff is thicker than a band aid it will start to stretch your shoes but without giving you a blister or hurting you. Works wonders!!!

Tight on the Length, this might be a little sad. If a shoe is so tight it makes your toes curl or you feel cramping sensations in your foot. TAKE THE SHOES BACK! Or donate the shoes to someone Please!! Don't make your poor tootsies suffer this kind of extreme pain. However, if a shoe is slightly snug in the length you can attempt to stretch it. Just bring the shoes to the cobbler (great option) it costs around 10 dollars which is not much to make your shoe fit.

Tight on the Width, again check with your cobbler he might be able to help you with streching the widht. However, you can also go the old fashioned way and put on thick, fluffy socks and squish your feet into your shoes and trot around the house for a while. OK girls, this is not fun, not comfortable, and not recommended for long periods of time BUT it "most def" works. Also if you have some rubbing alcohol, put a little in the areas where you want your shoe to stretch. Rubbing alcohol softens leather and makes it easier to stretch your shoes.

One more trick...this is where "Classy" meets comfort...at last!

These are flexible flats, with a rubber sole for outdoor use. These fold up and fit in a purse, tote or carry on and this makes them perfectly portable. Plus the chic clutch converts into a handy tote to store your killer heels in when you can't take the pain anymore.
This ensemble is so convenient to have with you on a night out, when travelling or on other occasions when your "gorg" shoes might rebel against you! Click here to buy them.
This is were fashion has never felt this good!

I hope these tips and tricks will help you when dealing with your Oh So Beautiful shoes that are a little "Devilish"!

xoxo
